Here at the Cosy Crow, we believe that everyone is entitled to a healthy, delicious meal regardless of their ability to pay. So, there are no prices on our menu and you won’t be presented with a bill. If you can make a donation, it would be much appreciated, but if you can’t, that’s okay, too. We just want you to enjoy the time you spend with us.
The food at the Cosy Crow is from FareShare, an organisation that supplies fresh, in-date, surplus food direct to us from supermarkets. We receive a delivery every week, which means our menu is always changing. We offer something for everyone, including vegetarians and those with a bit of a sweet tooth!
We’re currently open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:30pm. to 3:00pm. We hope to extend our opening hours based on customer demand, so if you’d like to see us open more often, please come visit us!
While the Cosy Crow is associated with Gateshead Older People’s Assembly, we think it’s important to clarify that we’re open to everyone. We hope you’ll pop in and enjoy a delicious meal. Relax a while. Read a magazine. Make a new friend or two!
We’re staffed entirely by volunteers, so if you’re interested in helping out (and gaining food and health and safety qualifications!), please click our Volunteering page or contact the Assembly’s Activities and Volunteering Coordinator on 0191 438 1721.
