Assembly Relaunch Celebration

The past year has been a very busy and productive one for us, and to celebrate, we hosted an official relaunch event yesterday. With a new website and branding and our newly decorated building, it was time to reintroduce ourselves to our partners and beneficiaries.

Nearly sixty people joined us for a presentation highlighting what we’ve accomplished over the past year. Craig, our manager, provided an overview of our three-year strategic plan and outlined some of the projects we’re planning in the near future. Activities and Volunteering Coordinator, Lola, spoke about the success of our community café, the Cosy Crow, as well as the great things happening with our social and activities groups. Finally, Nicola, our Postural Stability Instructor, spoke about the excellent progress made by our Tai Chi and Staying Steady participants.

Two special presentations were made to recognise the contributions made by two of our volunteers. Angela Currie and Charden Pouo were presented with plaques and given a well-deserved round of applause.

Everyone enjoyed a buffet catered by the Cosy Crow made from food we receive from FareShare Northeast.

Representatives from the following organisations joined us, in addition to members of our board, volunteers, and our crafts and reminiscence groups:

  • Alzheimer’s Society
  • Edberts House
  • Food Newcastle
  • Gateshead Care Call
  • Gateshead Citizens Advice Bureau
  • Gateshead Council
  • Gateshead Food Bank
  • The Gateshead Housing Company
  • Groundwork
  • Home Group
  • NCVS Gateshead
  • Newcastle Gateshead CCG
  • Northumbria Police
  • Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service
  • WarmZone

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We were so pleased to see each and every one of you and are looking forward to continuing to work closely with you in the future.
